Shared

Read-only
Your partner can see the balance and transactions but can't change anything. Useful when one partner manages a category but wants the other to have visibility.
Private
Completely invisible to your partner. They can't see the balance, the name, or any transactions. Perfect for gifts, personal spending, or simply your own money.

Go to lazeefish.com/signup. Takes 60 seconds — email and password, no credit card.
Invite your partner
Go to Settings → Household and click "Invite a partner." Copy the invite link and send it via text or email. Your partner gets their own free account — no shared password.
Connect both your banks
Each partner connects their own bank accounts via Plaid. Checking, savings, credit cards, joint accounts — they all flow into the same envelope view.
Create your shared envelopes
Rent, Groceries, Utilities, Dining Out, Entertainment, Emergency Fund. Set each to Shared so both partners can see and update the balance. Create Private envelopes for what's yours alone.
Set monthly allocations together
Use the Monthly Budget page to agree on how much goes into each envelope each month. Transactions from both banks categorize automatically. Check in monthly to adjust.

Does my partner need to pay?
No. Both accounts are covered under the same free plan. There's no per-user fee, no "household upgrade," no premium tier required for joint access.
Can I have envelopes my partner can't see?
Yes. Mark any envelope as Private and it's completely invisible to your partner — they can't see the balance, the name, or any transactions in it. Good for gifts, surprises, or simply personal spending.
What happens if we break up or one of us leaves?
Either partner can leave the household at any time from Settings → Household. Private envelopes are deleted on removal; shared data stays with the household. Both partners keep their own accounts — just no longer linked.
How many people can be in a household?
There's no hard limit in the current version. You can invite a partner, a roommate, or a family member — all free.
Can I transfer ownership to my partner?
Yes. From Settings → Household, the household owner can transfer ownership to any other member. The original owner becomes a regular member; the new owner takes over admin controls.
